Sunayana is a bespoke Textile Designer specializing in hand embroidered textiles.
She creates textures on fabric using traditional techniques of hand embroidery incuding needleweaving, stumpwork and appliqué with a contemporary 'on-trend' twist on a wide range of products, made in London.
Her brand, ‘Sunayana B Goswami’ was founded out of her desire to bring the beauty and abundance of nature into everyday life. It is dedicated to creating quality and original handcrafted textiles drawing inspiration from her cultural heritage and extensive travels that amalgamate into unique creations, offering the best of both worlds to customers.
Sunayana’s desire to create something exclusive and beautiful that cannot be bought in bulk has always been her driving force. In this era of everything that is fast and readily available, she believes in creating heirlooms that are passed down to the next generation.
She has designed for eminent brands such as Liberty, Laura Ashley, The Conran Shop & Habitat in the United Kingdom as well as Anthropologie in the United States of America while working with several internationally acclaimed designers and export houses. She has independently supplied collections of handmade apparel and accessories to well known Indian retailers including Fabindia.
She is a Lecturer at the esteemed Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and a member of the Embroidery Guild at The Southwark Cathedral in London, wherein she got the opportunity to meet Her Majesty, the Queen of England after successfully completing a commissioned piece of embroidered work.
Sunayana has also worked on a freelance basis for design studios in London which sell to lifestyle brands and boutiques in the UK and USA.
Her designs have been exhibited at a number of trade shows across the world including the ‘Maison et Objet’ in Paris and 'Top Drawer' in London.
